About Ayurveda and its Importance
Ayurveda, one of the world’s oldest medical sciences, originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is believed to be passed down from Lord Brahma to Lord Dhanvantari, the God of Ayurveda. Ayurvedic knowledge is based on scriptures like Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita, which have been translated into various languages worldwide. The principles of Ayurveda emphasize the balance between mind, body, senses, and soul, with foundational concepts like the Dosha Theory and Panchakarma Therapy guiding its practice.
